let’s dream together, my thirteen little rockstars
As I watch the video of SEVENTEEN’s Nomination Ceremony as UNESCO’s First Goodwill Ambassador for Youth, I know I stan a group whose voices will not just be heard in music videos and will go beyond stadiums. From stadiums to podiums, from healing broken hearts they didn’t break to pushing youths to pursue their dreams.
At some points in my life, there’s a room where I doubt my dreams, thinking twice whether my vision for myself deserves to be pursued or I deserve that dream at all. But Seventeen do not fail me with their words. Like a match that is given to me, not to burn myself but to light my dreams and ignite a great future ahead of me.
To our thirteen little rockstars, thank you for existing and using your voice for the youth.
You are always full of surprises. You, yourselves once dreamed as a team and each one of you has yours but here you are, encouraging young people to chase theirs. As a Carat, I will take your words into my heart. Thank you for making me and my dreams seen.
“When you pursue your dream, please know that you are not alone. Find companionship with your fellow youth, and also give your support to them.”
Now, as I walk on my path, I know I am not alone. I will remember your words whenever fear consumes me. I’ll drag up my fellow dreamers and we will both shine.
